ISTD partners with Wattle for Digital Transformation

ISTD, the renowned and globally recognised organisation dedicated to the art and discipline of dance education, is to partner with Wattle to deliver innovative, creative services for the benefit of their international community of dance teachers and learners.

Over the next 18 months the combined Imperial Society of Teachers for Dancing (ISTD) and Wattle team will transform the Society's systems, implementing D365 CRM, an Umbraco CMS website, and a .NET Web App member portal, based on Wattle's membership experience platform - MemEx.

Ginny Brown, Chief Executive, The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.

"ISTD is delighted to be partnering with Wattle on our digital transformation project which will benefit the Society’s members, examiners, volunteers, and staff. During a robust tendering process, the Wattle team stood out in their ability to understand our specific needs and ambitions."

"We look forward to building a long-term partnership with Wattle to deliver innovative, creative services for the benefit of our international community of dance teachers and learners."

The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing
is a renowned and globally recognised organisation dedicated to the art and discipline of dance education.

The Society has played a pivotal role in shaping the world of dance by setting high standards in teaching and promoting the various dance forms it represents. With a commitment to excellence, the Society provides comprehensive training, syllabi, and certification programs for dance instructors. The Society’s strategic vision is ‘to make teaching and learning dance accessible to all’. By supporting teachers to develop their careers and businesses through progressive training, performance qualifications, and events, the Society aims to build a sustainable dance profession.

Having conducted an internal digital discovery process to review its technologies, processes, and ways of working the Society highlighted that, despite having been successful in digitising core processes, a landscape of disparate and expensive systems, fragmented processes, and a limited capacity for standardisation had fostered a siloed culture and approach to working. In addition, the cost of current platforms, and the lack of options for systems integration, negative outweighed many of the operational gains made.

The Society is now keen to embark on a digital transformation journey to streamline its operations, simplify what it does, and improve both internal and external user experiences. The transformation process will focus on several key goals including:

  • Improving the member experience and accelerating organisation growth.
  • Creating a single source of truth for all data and leveraging business intelligence for informed business decision-making.
  • Driving higher levels of member engagement via access the right content at the right time.
  • Reducing complexity via the automation of processes, administrative tasks, and communications.

To help the Society realise its strategic vision Wattle will deploy MemEx, our seamlessly integrated Membership Experience Platform, specifically designed to address the needs of membership organisations, to meet their digital challenges.

MemEx will act as a comprehensive baseline functionality framework for the Society’s new digital platform and, through defined processes of discovery, design, and build, be configured to their unique requirements, integrated with relevant incumbent systems, and deployed into the organisation in a phased manner over an 18 month period.

We look forward to sharing future updates about ISTD's digital transformation programme. To learn more about how Wattle can support your membership organisation contact our expert team today.
